And why oh why did it have to end!?!?!?
Flatford Mill is a really brilliant place. I promise you now i won't bore you with all the details of what we learnt about biodiversity etc etc and all the geeky stuff that made it a week of pure heaven for me =]
So we left on sunday after i'd been to the DGGS fair. That was a good laugh, and got a skull and cross bones painted on my cheek by Lucy =] And Simon and I wrestled ARRRrrrr. Also Beyond Innocence were playing, was pretty impressive stuff. Then it was off to the coach. Gosh it was way too hot, and the seats were tiny so i have my knees around my ears practically!! Still, read my book and chatted to Beth. Got there and we had to lug our suitcases down the hill from the carpark to the place, of course i say "we" but i was disallowed as apparently i couldn't carry my bag about 500metres. I mean come on!! So all the girlies with their wheely bags trundled off to leave me to whittle... It was cool... =D
Got there and had a few mins to explore, my room had a really nice view of the weir where the old water wheel used to be. Then we had an intro, and food. Oh my!! Food there was actually so nice! I was expecting like... school food so to speak. The kind of thing made on a large scale to be just about edible by the general populous... Well this food actually had flavour, and the veggie stuff was really nice, not hydrated hamster feed like i get 9/10.
Anyways... Week of fun and listening to people complain 24/7!! That got a bit tedious i tells ya! I MUST mention STEVE-O!!!!! LEGEND!!!! He was our tutor guy, but i've met some nutters in my time and he's WELL up there! But he was brilliant!! Fantastically clever, but managed to inspire people!! People actually worked! Anyways, we did stuff in a wood, and stuff in a river. Ecology is very similar to geography.
THEN i came home, it was awesome. Straight off to a little celebration for steph's 18th, really good laugh =] Molly getting wasted on a splash of champagne, and playing badminton and stuff.
Band was a bit lonely in the morning, like half the people were missing. So was rather thin on the grounds. And there was no simon =[ But Will was back, and he doesn't have glandular fever which is a very very good thing =D So straight after band it was off to do a charity gig for Cancer Research UK. It was an EMBARRASSMENT!!!!!!!!!! We played terribly. And that shows what happens when you try and get people to dep in at the last minute. Especially people that can't sight read!! Still, oh well. Then went into town and found.... I'M RICH!!! I got paid!! First pay cheque, best feeling EVER!! So to celebrate i bought myself a new t-shirt and stuff =D Then went to see beyond innocence and they did SO SO SO SO well!!!!!!!!! SO impressed!!! State of Mind were awesome as ever too. Although i think i might have been giving them a little bit too much grief. Haha. Was really great!! AND I GOT A SONG DEDICATED TO ME =D!!!! Love those guys.
Of course, i hadn't originally intended to go and see them, but i did hang around and that put me a tad behind schedule, so i pegged it home and got changed and grabbed stuff and it was off to Greg's. Brilliant night. Dancing, drinking, eating candy off Greg's crotch... It was good fun, with good music, and good friends =] So thank you to everyone.
This morning. Wasn't so good. I intended to leave Greg's at 7am. Walk to the train station, get a train to Swanley, and a go to work... As it went... I only woke up at 8... That is to say... The time i should have BEEN at work. So much panicking etc etc etc later i got to work, got moaned at, yada yada yada. Its all good fun really. Although my manager didn't have to tell me to work faster today for once haha, score! Did that all day, fell asleep at lunch on the table where i was eating! And now here i am. A VERY brief record of my week. I hope it was enlightening... ish...
